Institute of Health Sciences Announces College Credit Awarded For Elecectroneurodiagnostic Technology Program

Timonium, MD, October 16, 2009 -- The Institute of Health Sciences (IOHS), located in Timonium, Maryland, has announced that the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Program has been awarded thirty (30) college credits by the Connecticut Credit Assessment Program (CCAP), administered by Charter Oak State College.

Charter Oak State College provides a customized curriculum in a flexible format, so that students may earn an Associate or Baccalaureate degree at Charter Oak State College while attending The Institute of Health Sciences, or may decide to continue on with their college studies after completion of the Electroneurodiagnostic Program...

Currently Assistant Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Kossoff focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of childhood seizures and epilepsy, particularly treatments other than medications such as diet, neurostimulation and surgery. Specific interests include the ketogenic diet, the Atkins diet for children and adults, infantile spasms, hemispherectomy, the interaction of migraine headaches with epilepsy and Sturge-Weber syndrome...

Institute of Health Sciences Issues Call for Clinical Sites

Timonium, MD - August, 2009 -- There is a severe shortage of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologists throughout the United States. This critical shortage can be addressed in two ways:

  • increase student enrollment in Electroneurodiagnostic technology educational programs

  • increase the number of Electroneurodiagnostic technology educational programs

Both of these require an increase in the number of clinical affiliate sites. Electroneurodiagnostic & Polysomnographic educational programs need the guidance, expertise, and involvement of the healthcare community in addressing the tremendous need for clinical affiliate sites...
